WALKING THROUGH - This topic for discussion begins on September 6, 2011. It is with great reverence and humility that the founders of STREETPRAYERS.ORG; Harvey Pinkney and Janet Schroeter begin this BLOG or TOPIC as we like to call it. The title WALKING THROUGH means to us that we are utterly conscious of the fact that the Holy Spirit is beckoning us to a level in our walk that is much higher than what we have experienced before. THE LORD is preparing us for the spiritual launch of this ministry which officially occurs at Lindblom Park in Chicago in 11 days. We are sensing that we are like the 1st century disciples in Matt chapter 10. Janet and myself feel that we are to catalogue our journey, our hearts, our weaknesses, our failures and victories as we WALK THROUGH the NARROW GATE into the work God has for us!

As this will be an exhaustive and never ending topic; let's first look at the scripture from which the "Narrow Gate" teaching is taken: Matthew 7:13-14 King James Version (KJV) 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

This is an awesome topic. Harvey and I are working through the things that the Lord has laid upon our hearts individually so that when this Ministry starts off by the foundation of Christ we are prepared before Him to walk through and in one with Christ. You see when God calls us to Walk Through something we also need to leave something first. He says in His Word to lay down all that we have to follow Him. You think well I have nothing left. I am there also. I have not much to offer. But the Lord is showing me that obedience is what He requires over sacrifice. As I was reading in my devotion this morning. The title was Obedience is Required. Read Sam 15:22. The Lord says follow Him. God is asking me is there any area of my life where I am not following Him? As I walk through with this Ministry God is calling me to lay down my life and the things that are holding me down from allowing Christ to do all that He wants to be in me and through me. I feel the Lord is saying leave my current job to lay down my cross and pick up His cross. How and why you ask would the Lord say such a thing in this ecomony? It is all about trusting and following. God is bigger than this ecomony. God is a God of providing if we do what He is asking from us. So what does that look like as we Walk Through? What stirs in your heart, mind, spirit as we are pondering on Walking Through. Jer 6:16 says the Lord; Stand at the Cross roads and look; ask for the ancient path, ask where the good way is, and walk in it. The ancient path is the Good path.

well here I am again. Lord struggling with you. We are also like children. We are called children of God. I am there God says do something and He is calling you somewhere. And you are looking and you heard Him but you fight with him and how can I with this and that going on. You fight, you struggle, and God is trying to pull you through like a screaming child laying on the ground. You are saying it will be ok just I know what is best for you. I am there. And I know a lot of you are too. We want to know what is behind door #2 before door#1 is shut. But that is not always going to happen. God says I can't show you door #2 until you close door #1 because then it will not be total trust. Harvey and I have gone back and forth talking and discussing this issue. Now it is time to share it with all of you. You are not alone. We too need to Walk Through with God.

I think about when Jesus told the fishermen "Follow Me" and I will make you fishers of men. The scripture says that they left their nets and followed Jesus. We have all read this scripture, but I think in our modern way of thinking, we assume that it was easy for them to leave behind everything...because they didn't have much. After all, they only had a cloak, a tunic some sandals and a donkey. Right? But all the things we have (I like to call our possessions shiny pieces of garbage) are merely facades, put here to distract our hearts, to deceive us into thinking that the world is worth loving. In John 8:31-32 King James Version (KJV) We read: 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. I love these verses because I can sense as we WALK THROUGH the narrow gate that there is also the gift of "Eye Opening" that is occurring. Because we are trying to continue in HIS WORD, we are being set free from the lies of the world.

is becoming more clear...we can sense the FREEDOM as we step through this narrow gate. It is the freedom that comes from breaking the tentacles that the world once had attached.

Lord I thank you that walking through the narrow gate gives one more power to overcome the flesh. It is because walking through the narrow gate is an act which mortifies the flesh.
